  • The Inn Crowd

    Look at all these beautiful spoken word shows from Scary Little Girls, Dan Simpson, Jonny Fluffypunk and Rosy Carrick. These are some of the shows that Jaybird is working on for The Inn Crowd. A spot of production, a dash of project management, and off they go to the pub.

    While we juggle breweries and bar-tabs, there are a couple of new Jaybird-produced shows on the blocks too; one of our own and one for a publisher. The alignment of cash and time is a precise one for a company the size of ours to manage, but we hope to send our new shows roaring onto stage soon.

  • Doing Anything Nice This Summer?

    It's been a while since the last Jaybird performance (Ovid's Heroines, in Nottingham, in the Spring, in a snowstorm), but there's plenty of backstage action keeping us busy at the moment.

    The Inn Crowd - this is a project run by Applause Rural Touring, Creative Arts East, Writers' Centre Norwich and New Writing South, designed to find and promote new live literature performances in pub venues in the east of England. Jaybird is working with WCN in particular to scout new shows and work on the production process to bring new shows to the bar.

  • Con / Lab / LibDem / JAYBIRD!

    Though we're deep in Ramayana-rehearsal, we've just lifted our heads up long enough to realise that our project from last year, London Lines, has been nominated for a Saboteur Award!

    London Lines brought 33 poets, 33 London boroughs, Southbank Centre and approximately 8 million visitors together over the summer of 2013, creating new poems to unearth and record impressions of the post-Olympic capital city.
